Olympus PRO 40-150mm F2.8 Zoom

A Pro-Grade Sports & Wildlife Lens for MFTFor those of us who need to have a taste of the action, comes this Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 Pro lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. On these compact system cameras this zoom range offers the equivalent of 80-300mm in 35mm terms, so it is well-suited to bringing you right in close, so you are able to capture the best and most exciting images.

Bright maximum aperture - faster shutter speeds & blurry backgrounds

With a constant f2.8 maximum aperture, this telephoto zoom lens is able to offer very shallow depths of field, particularly when you are utilising the longer end of the zoom. Backgrounds can easily be thrown into a complete blur, so only the important foreground subjects are sharp. This large aperture opening also enables you to shoot at faster shutter speeds, minimising the appearance of camera shake and also making sure any fast-moving subjects are stopped perfectly still. This is one sporty zoom lens!

Focus on even the fastest of subjects

Further cementing its place as an action-paced lens, the Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 includes a Dual Voice Coil motor, which basically means it has two separate focus motors for increased focussing speed. Also smooth and quiet, this focussing system will be able to quickly and accurately attain focus on even the fastest of models, leaving you free to continue shooting with confidence, knowing that your photographs are going to be tack-sharp.

Strong build quality - keep shooting through that drizzle

When photographing sports, or particularly wildlife - as a telephoto lens like this is going to invite - you are sometimes going to find yourself in less-than perfect conditions. When the weather takes a turn for the worse, or conditions get a little gritty, the last thing you want to worry about is the wellbeing of your photography gear. Thankfully this Olympus telephoto lens features a rugged dust, splash and freeze-proof construction, which allows the lens to be exposed to environments that you may find hard to handle yourself. Images taken in these conditions may just be the most exciting that you have ever taken, so you will be thankful for this advantage.
