Quality that we have come to expectBeing a Canon L series lens, you would expect the 100-400mm II to be of exceptional build quality and you will definitely not be disappointed. Rugged dust and splash-proof construction enable the lens to be used under the harshest of conditions, providing a level of freedom that outdoor and action photographers have come to rely on. Front and rear fluorite coatings have been included in this lens to help in the reduction of dirt sticking to and damaging the lens.Another characteristic that this telephoto zoom lens shares with other members of the L series line-up is its incredible optical quality. A superb construction ensures image quality is top-notch at all focal lengths, while the inclusion of Super UD-glass elements helps to reduce the appearance of aberrations and distortions. This is the much-lauded image quality that keeps Canon users coming back for more.

4 stop IS - Blur-free in all conditionsA vast improvement over the previous Canon 100-400mm lens, comes in the form of the redesigned image stabiliser system. This new IS has 3 different modes to allow for different shooting conditions and can improve performance by up to 4 stops. This advantage can be felt when shooting in conditions of low light and when photographing fast-moving subjects. This extra stability allows for confident hand-held shooting and will be appreciated by the fast-paced shooters that are drawn to this lens
